Queen Anne's County Historic Courthouse

Queen Anne's County Historic Courthouse

Located at 100 Court House Square, Queen Anne's County Historic Courthouse was the oldest courthouse in continuous use in the State of Maryland until the new Circuit Court for Queen Anne’s County opened at 200 N. Commerce St. in 2019. Although all circuit court functions have moved to the new building, the Courthouse green remains a popular setting for outdoor weddings and a great place to enjoy an ice cream cone. The historic courthouse and lawn are popular backdrops for Centreville events and programs like Centreville Day, DrinkMaryland: Centreville - A Maryland Makers Festival and the Centreville Farmers' Market.

The Courthouse green was designed in the traditional colonial town square style with a beautiful sculpture of the county’s namesake “Good Queen Anne” placed in the center of the square. In 2017, the Courthouse was chosen to represent small town America in the Johnny Cash video Ragged Old Flag, which aired during the Super Bowl 51 pre-show.
